My sister and I planned a baby shower party for one of our nieces. We made the decision to have it in the fellowship part of the community church due to the fact that it was a large guest list. We had the baby shower party on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't want to get too intricate with the baby shower decorations because we had to have the complete area cleaned out instantly after the party. We did want to have just a few decorations for baby shower to give the room a celebratory air. There is a cradle that is passed to each new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first four to 6 weeks. This bassinet was my mother's. We determined that we would use the cradle as the heart of our baby shower party decorations.
The fellowship section has big round tables that seat ten individuals. We moved one table off by itself to be the gift table. We covered this table with a smooth pink tablecloth; our niece has learned she is having a girl. We set the cradle in the center of the table. We made the decision to use our presents for the baby shower decorations. I had purchased a pink and white infant blanket, which we draped over the side of the cradle. We pinned a number of rattles and other infant toys to the blanket with diaper pins. We then showed the little ensembles that my sister had bought. We finished the baby shower decorations for the presents table by placing a big teddy bear into the cradle. It is so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!
For the food service table we had an array of fresh cut flowers from the local florist. She used silky pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the arrangement. We determined that no other baby shower party festive decorations needed to be put on this table. We did have pink napkins that we put on this table, together with a cake that was festooned with a stork holding a small doll in a pink frosting blanket.
We had also gotten a corsage for our niece and one for every of the new grandmas to be. We felt that the room looked very good and we would not have to spend plenty of time cleaning up baby shower decorations because they would all be sent home as presents to our niece.
We had a great turn out for the baby shower party. My niece got quite a few very nice presents. She was glad that we had the baby shower party in a space that was not small. As she progresses with the maternity she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 moments after the baby shower party was over the fellowship area was cleaned up and we were going home.
